In the area of personal care products, this is probably among the most personal.
The contents of a 5g paper packet of this powder will produce 200ml (6.5oz) of very thick gel, or 250ml (8oz) of medium viscosity gel. All you need to do is add water and stir for a couple of minutes.
You'll want to store it in a sealable container so it doesn't dry out. It's made with water and will last as long as the water does. For that reason, I suggest using boiled water, filtered water, or distilled water. You can add it directly to room temperature water if you want without clumping.
There are many uses for a gel of this viscosity in your daily life:
- intimate shaving
- hipstery shaving
- skin moisturizing (heels, elbows, lips, etc.)
- hair gel (fly-away tamer)
- latex/wetsuit/boot lubricant
- makeup removal (like non-waterproof mascara)
- massage gel
- ring removal
- zipper lubrication
- much, much more
Using a lubricant for shaving is the perfect solution if you think about it. It will aid your razor and moisturize at the same time. You can see everything you're doing because there's no foam. The same goes for hipster beards and moustaches.
I've chosen a food and cosmetic grade cellulose for use here so it is completely safe and edible if you're worried about that. The tiny amount of aqua colour was added to distinguish it from any other powders you may have laying around. Plus, it looks cool.
Packaging is made from origami paper of various designs, and will be chosen at random from what I have available. I'll have taped it shut just to be sure it doesn't come open during shipping.
You can experiment with adding aromatherapy oils if you want or just leave it scent-free.
